Tips

You should tip between 10 and 15 % at any restaurant, disco, etc.

Clothing

Casual is king. No need for extra clothing for the rainy season from

May to October. Just bring an umbrella. The nights during Dicember

and January may be somewhat cool. A light sweater is recommended.

Money

There are ATMs in the center of Veracruz and also in shopping malls.

They will pay you up to 4000 pesos a day. Most hotels and the more

expensive restaurants will accept credit cards. For your petty

purchases use cash.

Taxis

Cabs are cheap in Veracruz and reasonably safe. Always ask the price

before getting into the cab. If you are the nervous type take the cab

at the hotel. They are more expensive but the driver usually speaks

English.

Internet

Most of the hotels in Veracruz provide Internet connections. There are

also plenty of Internet Cafes.

Water

Never ever drink water in Veracruz unless it is bottled and with

unbroken seal.
